  Tulipa L. tulip     Liliaceae

Tulips have been bred for hundreds of years and come in a variety of types: with rounded or pointed petals, smooth to ruffled petal edges, various degrees of flower opening, and as singles and doubles. The major forms used for cut flowers are called Darwin, Triumph, Rembrandt, Double, Peony, and Lily-flowered.
