Brief characterization

Leafless scape terminating in rounded umbel-like inflorescence (actually a racemose arrangement of cymes) of up to 30 or more mostly funnelform to trumpet-shaped flowers; 6 tepals in 2 whorls of 3, with +/- midrib on undersides, and with lobes longer than tubes; stamens 6, curving upward near anthers.

Cultivar and/or species variation

Flowers blue, purple, lavender, or white, ca. 3-5 cm long; outer tepals smaller than to equal to inner tepals; midrib darker than tepal or white.
