These flowers, which are exported by some African countries, are not included in this version of the Cut Flower Exports of Africa interactive key because they are well known and thus easily recognizable by many people. Future versions of this key may include these genera. Photographs of these common flowers are included here as a visual reference, and because some of the flower genera covered in the key may look similar to them. These photographs may help in distinguishing between flower genera that look similar.
Of the 13 genera listed above, cultivars of Rosa have the highest production rate in Africa. Cultivars of Rosa, Dianthus and Dendranthema are among the most popular flowers in the world.
